Motorola's announcement last week that it would simplify its handset lineup in 2009 by dropping its use of the Symbian operating system and its own in-house Java-Linux operating system development to focus on Android and Windows Mobile doesn't mean that the company isn't committed to Linux.
A Motorola spokeswoman told Unstrung that the firm will have handsets using the Linux operating system from the LiMo Foundation by the end of the year.
