Redwood City, CA, November 17, 2008: The global wireless BTS infrastructure market revenues for the top OEMs grew by 3.7% for the third quarter of 2008 to $12.2 billion compared with the third quarter of 2007, according to the latest report from EJL Wireless Research titled "Global Wireless OEM Financial Results Q3 2008."
"The market experienced a decline on a sequential basis of 12% as all wireless equipment vendors were impacted by the Summer Olympic Games in China," says founder and President, Earl Lum. "Given the undeniable decline in cap ex spending by mobile operators due to the global financial crisis, we believe that weakness could continue into Q4 and that overall revenues in USD may be flat to down 1-2% for 2008 compared with our prior outlook of 5-7% growth," says Lum.
