Nokia, the world's largest handset maker, relies a great deal on volume sales for its large market share. The Finnish giant, however, is not immune to the economic recession that is sweeping across the wireless industry, and posted a 69 percent drop in fourth quarter profits [1]. The company recently said it would launch its own MVNO in Japan [2], giving it further market differentiation. However, its struggles to break into the North American market [3] continue.
