Economic Daily News, a Chinese-language newspaper, is reporting that handset maker HTC will launch the Hero, an Android-based device, June 24 in London and that AT&T will be selling the device exclusively for six months beginning in the third quarter. EDN says that the Hero will come in two versions, one with a Qwerty keyboard and one without, and that the keyboard model will be named HTC Memphis or HTC Lancaster.
This EDN report seems to validate a May story from Engadget [1]that said AT&T may launch an HTC-made phone, dubbed Lancaster, that has 850/1900 MHz HSPA support, a full Qwerty keyboard, 3-megapixel camera and a "unique HTC social messaging user interface."
HTC has repeatedly said it will unveil at least two more Android phones this year, in addition to the already released Magic.
