What has happened since it was awarded the Fierce 15: Since winning a slot on the Fierce 15, mobiTV's subscriber base has jumped to more than 7 million. The company said its offering stretches across 60 channels and is available on more than 350 handsets for 20 carrier networks. The company also expanded in November 2008 with Mobi4Biz, a financial news application, and earlier this year into iPhone land with a March Madness app for CBS. The company said it is developing more vertical-specific and big-ticket live event applications, and hopes to combine free local broadcast content with subscription-based premium content featuring DVR-like capabilities.
