The Wall Street Journal reports that at least six private-equity firms are interested in the assets of Telecom Italia SpA. Surprise. At least one consortium includes the usual players associated with high-flying deals for high-tech companies: Texas Pacific Group, Blackstone Group, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., Carlyle Group and Providence Equity Partners.
