Helio has unveiled its third product since launching earlier this year that leverages CEO Sky Dayton's other company, hotspot operator Boingo and EV-DO. Helio calls the new package "Hybrid" and it's simply a rebranded Sierra Wireless Aircard 580, EV-DO service and WiFi access with Helio's connector software at the helm. A data service like this one seems like a far-cry from the MVNO's core offering, which aims at tech-savvy young people, but with a pricepoint of $85 a month the two-for-one offering should prove compelling. Looks like a precursor offering to the company's imminent fixed-mobile convergence service, which you can hear more about at our executive summit, wVoIP [1], next month in San Francisco. Helio's Greg Hayes is keynoting.
