Motorola and Texas Instruments (TI) have expanded their strategic relationship to include 3G, WiMAX and OMAP technologies in the design of Motorola's mobile devices [1]. Motorola is developing 3G handsets based on TI's 3G solution, including processors from TI's OMAP 3 architecture. The handsets should see a commercial launch come early 2008. TI has also pledged to support Motorola's mobile WiMAX initiative with a 65nm chipset that will support voice, video and data for low-power mobile applications on handsets that Motorola plans to launch next year.
