In photos: The phones of CES
LAS VEGAS--The Consumer Electronics Show here is a hotbed of cell phone hoopla and hype. Phone vendors both big (think Motorola and LG) and small (think Lenovo and Palm) this year used the event as a launching point for their latest mobile gadgets.
Indeed, as the wireless industry melds into the fabric of the wider consumer electronics market, CES may well become the primary trade show for a wireless industry long used to saving its mega-announcements for the spring CTIA show.
Thus, it's worth taking a moment to leaf through a smattering of the major handset announcements from this year's CES show. While this photo essay is by no means complete, it provides a bit of the flavor of the handset news from this year's show.
