The following is a countdown of 2009's most valuable wireless brands, according to marketing research firm Millward Brown Optimor's annual BrandZ Top 100 list.

According to the BrandZ report, "the dollar value of each brand in the ranking is the sum of all future earnings that brand is forecast to generate, discounted to a present day value." The report relies on both customer opinion and financial performance.
The BrandZ Top 100 lists all of the world's most valuable brands, regardless of industry. The full ranking is available here. The following countdown lists only those companies among the BrandZ Top 100 that have a significant presence in the worldwide wireless industry.
Indeed, according to Millward Brown, "the increased popularity of using the Internet on the move through devices such as the iPhone and BlackBerry has led to huge increases for the mobile operators category as a whole, driven by demand for data services."
