Denny Strigl - Top U.S. Wireless Innovators of All Time

Strigl is one of the most prominent players in the wireless industry. He started his career in 1968 with New York Telephone and moved on to positions at AT&T and American Bell. In 1984 he became president of Ameritech Mobile Communications where he helped launch the first cellular telephone network in Chicago.

Strigl also served as president and CEO of Bell Atlantic Mobile and group president and CEO of Bell Atlantic Global Wireless, where he oversaw the company's domestic and international wireless portfolio.

Strigl is credited with helping architect the merger of Bell Atlantic, Vodafone AirTouch and GTE to form Verizon Wireless, which is now one of the top two wireless operators in the U.S. Today, Strigl serves as President and COO of Verizon Communications.
