FierceWireless Predictions for 2010

Every year the Fierce editorial team compiles a list of the top things we think will happen in the coming year. And just so you know, we like to be bold in our predictions--we'd rather be wrong than be vague. It's much more fun that way.

And please note: these are our predictions and they come from careful analysis of the news. We don't have inside information, nor do we have any knowledge of actual deals that may or may not happen. 

• 1: Net neutrality will pass, but with exceptions for wireless
• 2: Palm will be purchased by another handset vendor
• 3: Pricing, coverage issues will hinder cable companies' wireless offerings
• 4: Sprint Nextel's 4G leadership will help revive the carrier
• 5: Huawei will get one LTE deal in North America
• 6: At least one wireless carrier will experiment with usage-based data pricing
• 7: Motorola will show some signs of recovery thanks to Android
• 8: Computer makers' attempts at Android smartphones will flounder
