ABI: $8.6 billion in LTE base station investment by 2013

ABI Research has forecasted that, despite the economic recession, wireless companies that have committed to deploying LTE technology will continue to invest in deploying the base stations necessary to rollout the technology. Verizon has said it plans to accelerate its deployment, pushing for 2009 instead of 2010. ABI predicted that NTT DoCoMo will launch LTE in Japan in 2009 and that by 2013 operators will spend over $8.6 billion on LTE base station infrastructure alone. Release
