Alltel beefs up "Sales Guys" campaign

Tools

Alltel is building upon its popular "sales guys" advertising campaign with the introduction of the "Man Cave." The Man Cave is a place where a geeky group of sales associates from rival carriers--Sprint, Verizon Wireless, AT&T and T-Mobile--plot to defeat Chad, the affable Alltel sales rep.

The Man Cave will be featured in television spots airing nationwide on VH1, ABC Family and other networks but it will also have a large interactive component. The Sales Guys have their own MySpace page and consumers can tour the official Man Cave site to keep track of the campaign's ongoing story line.

The campaign is significant because it clearly shows the increasing level of competition between Alltel and the Tier 1 nationwide operators. The carrier also uses the campaign to highlight MyCircle, its offering that gives customers the ability to make unlimited calls to up to 10 wireless or wireline numbers from any operator.
