Alltel teams with WiderThan for ringbacks

Alltel announced today that it had selected the recently acquired WiderThan as its provider for ringback tone (RBT) services, for its more than 11 million subscribers. Alltel subscribers can now download ringback tones for $0.99. A ringback tone is a music clip that a caller listens to instead of the standard dial-tone. WiderThan already provides content services to T-Mobile USA, Verizon Wireless, Cingular Wireless and Sprint Nextel.
