Analyst: LG clamshell more popular than RAZR
According to M:Metrics, Verizon Wireless subscribers bought more of the LG VX8300 silver clamshell, than Cingular Wireless subscribers and Verizon Wireless subscribers bought the Motorola RAZR. That's good news for LG, whose sales have slumped recently as big branded phones like the RAZR have trumped their previous dominance over the CDMA phone business. LG recently slipped from fourth to fifth place in global marketshare, after rising competitor Sony Ericsson gobbled up much of the GSM market.

Thanks for the note, Anonymous. Update: The report notes that Verizon's sales of the LG phone outpace those of the RAZR for both Verizon and Cingular subscribers combined. -Brian
