An Apple event on Sept. 10 would scramble tech industry's calendar

Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) may or may not announce a new iPhone (or two) at a media event on Sept. 10. However, if it does, that will throw added complexity into the tech industry's September calendar. As noted by AllThingsD (which has reported that Apple will unveil the next iteration of its iPhone at the Sept. 10 event), there is a great deal going on that day. Mobile industry analyst Chetan Sharma will be hosting his Mobile Future Forward event in Seattle on Sept. 10, which will draw executives from all four Tier 1 carriers and many other mobile payers. Further, the multiday Tech Crunch Disrupt and Intel Developer Forum events both overlap with a Sept. 10 date. If Apple does decide to hold an event Sept. 10, much of the industry's attention is likely going to be focused there and not at competing events. However, all of the other organizers told AllThinsgD they did not think an Apple announcement on Sept. 10 would significantly impact their events. Article
