Apple passed RIM in smartphone market in Q3

When Apple announced that it had sold 6.9 million iPhones in its fiscal fourth quarter, Apple CEO Steve Jobs proclaimed that his company had passed Research In Motion in units shipped in the quarter. Research firm Canalys has confirmed that, as Apple became the second biggest player in the smartphone market and took 17.3 percent of the market, compared to RIM's 15.2 percent. Report
