One week after Apple's new iPhone 3G S model went on sale, the second wave of launches has swept the globe. Lines formed in Japan and Australia, but the response seems to be similar to the first phase of launches; the new smartphone attracted crowds but not as large as previous iPhone launches. The new model also went on sale today in Austria, Belgium, Ireland and the Netherlands. Apple said that it sold more than 1 million iPhone 3G S units worldwide in the first weekend of availability.  Article
