AT&T appoints Donovan as CTO

AT&T announced that John Donovan will assume the role of chief technology officer. Donovan replaces Chris Rice who has taken on the new position of executive vice president of Shared Services. Donovan most recently served as the EVP of product, sales, marketing and operations at Verisign. Before his time at Verisign, Donovan was the CEO for inCode Telecom Group and a director of industry practices for telecom and media at Deloitte Consulting.

Donovan will work out of the San Antonio offices and will oversee the global technology strategy of the company as well as the innovation roadmap, which includes product development, network and engineering operations, AT&T Labs and the security and IP organizations.
