Best Buy and U.K. wireless retail conglomerate Carphone Warehouse said they are launching stand-alone mobile phone stores in the U.S. It's an interesting development given Carphone's huge influence in the mobile market beyond just selling handsets through marketing data services and starting a nasty price war for fixed broadband service by launching its own free service. It could teach Best Buy some good lessons. The companies said they are going to test out a Best Buy Mobile store in New York.
