China Mobile recently announced that it plans to invest $8.6 billion to build out its 3G network. The carrier will build 60,000 base stations in 2009, and then later increase that number to 80,000, as it plans to cover 238 cities. China recently granted 3G CDMA licenses to China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom. Article
