China Mobile subscriber tally tops 414.5M

China Mobile reported its second-quarter subscriber tally has grown to 414.6 million, up from 332.4 million the prior year. In addition, the company's net profits increased 45 percent to $8.01 billion. The company gave little insight into its TD-SCDMA developments, only saying it will integrate its existing 2G network with the 3G network. The company's parent, China Mobile Communications, is testing TD-SCDMA in 10 cities.  Article (sub. req.)
