ComScore: Microsoft slips, Android gains in U.S. smartphone market

U.S. smartphone marketshareThe latest U.S. smartphone figures from research firm comScore show Microsoft on the decline and Google's Android on the rise. The firm's market share trends for February show Research In Motion's BlackBerry platform retaining the No. 1 position and Apple's iPhone OS continuing to fill the No. 2 slot. However, Microsoft's market share fell from 19.1 percent in November to 15.1 percent in February, while Android jumped from 3.8 percent in November to 9 percent in February, according to comScore.
