Convergys may spinoff its billing operations
Convergys is considering spinning off its Information Management business unit into a standalone company. The unit provides rating, charging and billing solutions to telecom carriers and some of its customers include Cincinnati Bell and failed MVNO Disney Mobile. The company is expected to make a decision during the fourth quarter.
The company says that the unit and its other group may achieve greater potential if separated. The move would be interesting considering converged billing is a hot area of the industry right now and this unit (if spun off from Convergys) would likely be an acquisition target for any large vendor.

While converged billing may be a hot area convergys billing is not. Name one billing customer they have added or has grown in the last 18 months. There is no profit from that part of thier business which has been propelling thier stick downward for the last 18 months. They have struggled to bring life back to that business over the last six years and have failed leaving no value for an assumed buyer.
