Tools

Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo plans to build 20 percent more base stations in the year ahead with a goal of putting up 57,000 by the end of March 2008. According to a report in Nikkei, 80 percent of its projected capital investment of 750 billion yen will be used for the construction of the base stations. During the fiscal year ending in March 2007, the carrier said its 3G FOMA supporting base stations reached 46,000, up 50 percent from the year before.

DoCoMo also announced five new FOMA handsets and a mobile credit card. The FOMA handsets make up a new product line called 3G FOMA 904i handsets.
