Early iPhone buyers may get rebate on 3G version

The Atlanta Business Chronicle is reporting that consumers that bought the first generation iPhone will be able to get a rebate on the new 3G iPhone when it becomes available in stores July 11. The 3G iPhone, which uses AT&T's HSPA network, will retail for $199, which is significantly lower than the original iPhone that made its debut about a year ago for $499 for the 4 GB model and $599 for the 8 GB model.
