FCC: NextPhase a go for WiMAX

NextPhase Wireless is one step closer to joining Sprint and Clearwire as an entrant in the WiMAX service industry: The FCC has approved its application for a nationwide license to provide WiMAX wireless services in the newly released 3.65 GHz band (3650-3700 MHz).

"Combined with the recently announced LMDS (Local Multipoint Distribution Service) spectrum that we've acquired in certain key markets (Atlanta, Georgia; Los Angeles, California; Miami/Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania/Wilmington, Delaware/Trenton, New Jersey) we now have all of the elements in place to deliver a comprehensive portfolio of business-grade broadband services, at speeds ranging from 3 Mb/s to 622 Mb/s," said president and CEO Robert Ford.
