Genachowski sworn in as FCC chairman, and challenges await

After months of waiting, Julius Genachowski was sworn in as the new chairman of the FCC on Monday. And his plate is already full, as acting chairman Michael Copps set up a number of issues for the commission to tackle while Genachowski was awaiting Senate confirmation (had was nominated for the position in March). Among the more pressing issues: establishing a nationwide broadband plan; evaluating exclusive deals between handset makers and wireless carriers; and examining net neutrality rules.
