Grocery chain offers free wireless minutes
Who couldn't use some free wireless minutes these days? Cincinnati-based grocery chain Kroger is teaming up with i-wireless, an MVNO on Sprint Nextel's network, for a national promotion that will allow customers who use the KrogerPlus grocery card to get free airtime minutes on i-wireless phones sold at Kroger stores. Customers will get 20 free minutes for every $100 they spend a month while using the card, with a cap of $1,500 a month. Those using Kroger's branded MasterCard will get 30 minutes of airtime for every $100 spent. The program will be available in Kroger's 2,300 stores across 31 states by the end of this month. Article

Please be aware that you will have to pay cash to keep this phone on.
I Wireless sucks! I bought 2 of these phones for Christmas thinking I could keep a phone running useing the Kroger rewards. I asked the front desk of Kroger if I could do this and they didn't know anything about the phone. So I investigated there website. Then I called i wireless and asked their representative if I could keep the phone running just useing kroger rewards and their answer was yes. I knew I'd get screwed.
I've been spending about 400 dollars a month at kroger and today I get a text telling message telling me my account will be closed if I don't buy some minutes. I called i wireless and they tell me its in there website. And it is now. But I don't know if it was there before. Even know it's tucked away pretty nice. Nowhere on the pamplet is this information shared.(I bought this phone at a Kroger not on the Internet)
I didn't shop at Kroger till I was 25. Really. I might stop by one for some Kings Island coupons but they used to be kind of skanky. Anyways, I needed some advil one night and stopped in one of the newer Krogers and liked it. Now, that very first purchase they overcharged me. And I brought it back in expecting my dollar or whatever back and to my suprise they refunded me all my money back(the price of the advil included) and let me keep the advil. I was impressed. There was no suspition of them trying to get over on me because who could afford to do this with such a policy. I don't think I had ever been more impressed with a company. A couple years later I became aware of their Kroger brands policy. You can buy one of their Kroger brand items and if you don't like it take it back for a full refund. Their have been things I haven't liked but because of this policy their bacon has become my favorite, honey peanut butter, and tater tots(deep fried) as well.
Kroger has policies in place which make me think I'm dealing with somebody honest, which is why this pairing with I wireless seems to fly in the sence of reason. Tomorrow I will be talking to Kroger, hopefully they will be able to remedy my situation.
