HTC adds more WinMo, Android phones to 2009 lineup

HTC has received orders for at least eight new handsets in 2009, including orders from all of the Tier 1 U.S. carriers as well as from Vodafone, and the lineup includes new Windows Mobile based phones as well as another phone based on Google's Android operating system, according to a DigiTimes article.

The article said HTC plans on unveiling its new Windows Mobile-based phones at Mobile World Congress next month in Barcelona. HTC plans on releasing its new Android-based phone in the second half of 2009.

The handset maker has steadily gained traction with the U.S. market, and has smartphones at all of the major carriers. It recently launched a new smartphone, the S743 for the U.S. market, but has yet to name a carrier or price.
