iGR reports 9.2 million smartphone sales in 3Q

Research firm iGR has launched a new quarterly smartphone tracker report that combines end user surveys, industry metrics and channel research to determine quarterly smartphone sales. Iain Gillott, founder of iGR, says that the company also will be looking at the operating system and brand preference.
