Inside the iPhone: ARM, Marvell
The blogosphere has been working overtime to discover which vendors contributed to the formation of Apple's iPhone since its unveiling in January. Today, a couple of the contributors have stepped forward and taken credit: ARM and Marvell. ARM is powering the iPhone's processors with "at least three" cores, according to InformationWeek. InfoWeek cites the president of England's ARM Holdings as its source. Marvell's PXA320, a descendant of the StrongARM processor, is thought to be the main CPU of the device.

The iPhone launch is scheduled for June, the announcement was made in January. Big difference.
