Is British Telecom eyeing a U.S. mobile operator?

Comments from British Telecom have set off speculation that the company may seek the partnership or acquisition of a U.S. mobile operator. The company, which has aggressively come out of the gate with fixed-mobile converged services through its BT Fusion offering, has already teamed with Vodafone and KPN to deliver corporate services to clients in Europe. It needs to fill a hole in the U.S. market.
