While Research In Motion is doing its best to allay market fears surrounding the potential shut down of its BlackBerry mobile email service by announcing a work-around solution that it says doesn't impede on NTP's patents, the industry still has doubts because of the lack of technical information released. RIM doesn't want to release technical details because it doesn't want NTP to know what it's up to. A federal judge has set a hearing date for February 24, after which he could choose to issue an injunction to shut down the BlackBerry service as it stands.
