Kid-focused MVNO Kajeet has raised $36.8 million in a second round of venture capital funding after a $27 million first round last year. The company offers kid-friendly services for tweens and teens as well as controls for parents looking to monitor and limit their children's mobile phone habits. Unlike Firefly, however, Kajeet's services run on "regular" handsets instead of those designed specifically for kids. 

Kajeet has been around since 2003 but its services launched just six months ago. It's not yet releasing subscriber numbers, but the pay-as-you-go service is available at Best Buy, Limited Too, Longs Drugstores and through the Kajeet website.
