Leap reviews acquisition offer, CFO resigns

Leap Wireless announced that its board of directors will review MetroPCS's unsolicited proposal to acquire the carrier. Leap has hired Goldman Sachs and Jeffrey Williams & Co. as financial advisors and Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz as well as Latham & Watkins as legal advisors.

Also, Leap's CFO Amin Khalifa has resigned from the company to pursue other interests. Leap's CEO and president Doug Hutcheson will take on Khalifa's responsibilities in the interim while a replacement is sought. Hutcheson served as Leap's CFO for three years prior to his appointment as CEO.
