Levin tapped to run FCC's broadband program

Acting FCC Chairman Michael Copps selected Blair Levin, an Obama transition official and a telecom analyst at Stifel Nicolaus, to run the commission's broadband program, which is supposed to map a national broadband strategy. Levin was chief of staff under former FCC Chairman Reed Hundt during the Clinton administration. He is also a close friend of Julius Genachowski, President Obama's choice to lead the commission, whose nomination is still pending confirmation. The FCC is currently working through thousands of comments it received on the structure and of the national broadband plan. Article (sub. req.)
