LTE network growth will outpace phone availability
Long Term Evolution (LTE) is now a reality, with multiple operators worldwide planning to launch networks by 2010. However, according to an article in Unstrung, LTE network deployment will outpace the availability of LTE-capable phones. LTE handsets are not going to reach the mass market until 2011, according to analysts in the report. We're about to watch networks evolve again to 4G meaning ubiquitous wireless broadband. When that happens the economics of data will change and smartphones will have to get even smarter to take advantage of the increased data speeds. So if you think enterprise mobility is exciting now, once these 4G networks roll out there will be even more potential for mobile productivity. Developments like these show why it's essential that enterprises embrace mobility and have a strategic plan for harnessing it to decrease operating costs, speed up workflow and make their businesses far more productive.
