Metric: 13.6% of U.S. homes wireless only

Tools

According to a report from the National Health Interview Survey, the number of households that rely exclusively on mobile phones for phone service has steadily increased since 2003 and now accounts for 13.6 percent of households in the U.S. The report found that 55 percent of all adults who live with unrelated roommates use only cell phones. The group has the highest penetration of "mobile phone only" users. Another interesting metric: 28 percent of renters were mobile only, while a mere 6.7 percent of homeowners only used mobile phones.
