Metric: 84% of U.S. will have mobiles by year-end

According to a recent report from SNL Kagan, by the end of 2007, 84 percent of the U.S. population will have mobile phones and by 2013 that percentage will surpass 100 percent. The report also predicts that the industry's ARPU will grow 1.5 percent over the next 10 years, from $52.38 currently to $61.09 by 2017. The report also predicts that data ARPU will grow 14 percent over the next 10 years and become 22 percent of total service revenue. It's just 10 percent currently.
