Metric: iPhone outsells other smartphones in July

According to a report from iSuppli, Apple's iPhone outsold other smartphones during the month of July and equaled sales of the most popular feature phone, LG's Chocolate. According to the report, the iPhone outsold every BlackBerry handset, the entire Palm portfolio and any individual Motorola, Nokia, Samsung or other carrier-branded models. iSuppli, however makes the distinction that the iPhone is not truly a smartphone since it is not designed to allow users to load third party software onto the product.
