MetroPCS net adds top 249K in 3Q

MetroPCS released some subscriber metrics ahead of its full third quarter results. The company had gross additions of 935,000 subscribers in the quarter, up 39 percent from the third quarter of 2007. The company's net adds were 249,000 up from 114,302 in second quarter 2008, giving MetroPCS a total subscriber base of 4.8 million at the end of the third quarter.

The regional carrier increased its churn slightly in the quarter to 4.8 percent, up from 4.5 percent in the second quarter of 2008.
