Mobliss sells messaging biz to New Motion

Tools

In case Mobliss' announcement last week that it was pulling out of its lucrative deal with American Idol didn't make it clear: Mobliss is getting out of the mobile messaging business. Today the company announced it would sell its messaging assets to New Motion for an undisclosed sum. The company decided to pass on another year of powering American Idol's wildly popular voting campaigns to focus instead on its mobile gaming titles. Mobliss' lineup includes licensed titles like "Family Feud," "New York Times Crossword" and "The Price is Right Cliffhangers." Mobliss is a subsidiary of Japan's Index Holdings.
