Modeo discloses beta trial details

Tools

On the same day that Verizon Wireless went live with its MediaFLO mobile TV trials in some markets, Modeo announced details of its New York City trial, which covers 475 square miles in the metro area. The trial includes content from CNBC, Discovery, E!, Fox News, Fox Sports and MSNBC, but the company has licenses for other content as well. Modeo, of course, is still shopping its wares around for  a carrier partner, but with AT&T and Verizon both announcing deals with Qualcomm for MediaFLO, prospects are bleak. Modeo also announced that the FCC will allow it to increase the power limit for its broadcast's signal in the top 30 cell markets, which help reduce costs of delivery.
