New Modeo pres: NYC launch in Q1

RCR News reports that Crown Castle subsidiary Modeo will launch its mobile TV network in New York City during Q1 of next year, instead of during the current quarter as planned. After its mobile TV head resigned last week, Modeo appointed VP of marketing and biz development Michael Ramke as president. Ramke said of his predecessor Michael Schueppert: "None of us are happy to see him go." Analysts say Modeo's inability to ink deals with carriers under Schueppert's management factored into the executive's departure, but Ramke seems undaunted by the challenge facing a mobile network divorced from mobile carriers. "Our New York City trial will show the world that we've lined up content deals with major brands and we're going beyond a traditional trial network, we're offering commercial grade service," Ramke said.
