Nextel Communications today launched a new WiFi service called Nextel WiFi HotSpot. The service operates through Nextel's strategic partnerships with Wayport and Boingo Wireless. Nextel HotSpot offers users unlimited access at 7,000 locations throughout North America for $39.99 per month. Subscribers can also upgrade to include unlimited wide area data access bundled with WiFi for $54.99 per month. Boingo Wireless is a member of the 2003 Fierce 15, an annual list of the top emerging wireless companies.
