Nokia, Infineon partnering on LTE solutions

Nokia and chip maker Infineon said they will work together on LTE solutions so that Nokia's future modem technology works with Infineon's transceiver chips. The partnership strengthens an established relationship--Infineon already supplies Nokia with chips--and moves Infineon one step closer to providing chipsets for Nokia's next generation of mobile data devices. The partnership also comes as competition in the next-generation chipset market heats up; earlier this month, Qualcomm said device vendors had begun sampling its dual-carrier HSPA+ chips and multi-mode 3G/LTE chips.
