Nokia Siemens appoints new services chief

Nokia Siemens Networks said it appointed Ashish Chowdhary as its new head of services. Chowdhary, who was formerly the head of the vendor's managed services, will take over Oct. 1. He will succeed Rajiv Suri, who is going to become Nokia Siemens' new CEO, and is already facing questions about how Nokia Siemens will handle changes in the marketplace. The company is the main equipment vendor for the British wireless operations of Deustche Telekom and France Telecom, which are set to merge. Analysts are speculating that Nokia Siemens will have the most to lose in the new joint venture, but Chowdhary said that the company is in a good position to help the JV succeed.
