Nokia Siemens tests LTE-Advanced technology

Tools

Nokia Siemens Networks says it demonstrated Relaying technology proposed for the LTE-Advanced standard. The infrastructure vendor says that the Relaying technology allows cell phone users to get a signal on the edge of a coverage area--where they are furthest from the mobile broadband base station.

The demonstration, which took place in the company's research facility in Germany, also provided some proof that Relaying technology can be integrated into a normal base station platform and does not require additional backhaul.
